Update on Cook Center Events

In light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak and new guidelines around social gatherings, the Cook Center has had to cancel and/or reschedule a number of upcoming events. Please check our events page here for the latest, as it will continue to be updated as the situation develops.

A few key updates to highlight:

  • Our May 4 Capstone Conference highlighting the research of our Duke Immerse students has been cancelled.
  • The convening of our latest Diversity Initiative for Tenure in Economics (DITE) cohort of fellows and mentors, also scheduled for May 4, has been postponed to a later date.
  • Scheduled events for Cook Center Director William A. Darity’s upcoming book (co-written with Kirsten A. Mullen), From Here to Equality: Reparations for Black Americans in the Twenty-First Century, will be handled on a case-by-case basis, as the dates of planned events currently range from April to September. The book, set to be released on April 20, is available for pre-order and available to read on Kindle now: More details, including ordering information, can be found here.
