Faculty Affiliate Dr. Jean Beaman, Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of California-Santa Barbara, spoke in early February at the Transformative Justice in Education Center. Her presentation, “Towards a Reading of Black Lives Matter in France: Diasporic Connections and Global Social Movements,” discussed themes of her ethnographic research on anti-racist mobilization in the U.S. and Europe.
