Faculty Affiliate Sandra Barnes documentary, “Four Voices: Journeys” has been nominated for two Nashville/Midsouth Emmys. “Four Voices: Journeys” was created and produced by Barnes, and explores the lives of four young Black members of the LGBTQIA+ community. The film delves into their experiences with religion and spirituality in the South.
The documentary is being recognized in the cultural documentary and long-form content categories. The award ceremony will take place Saturday, February 15, 2025 — 7pm.
Rev. Dr. Sandra L. Barnes is an ordained minister, C.V. Starr Professor, and Chair of the Dept. of Sociology at Brown University. She has written many book on the topics of race, religion, and sexuality. She also contributed to Cook Center book, The Pandemic Divide: How COVID Increased Inequality in America.
