In conjunction with its research, the Cook Center also features a number of projects and programs to bolster the impact of its work inside and outside of the academy. These efforts include opening doors for current and future scholars who have historically been marginalized within certain fields, in hopes of combating biases that appear when these voices aren’t heard. They also offer opportunities for undergraduates and the local Durham public to engage with research on inequality.
