Samuel DuBois Cook recognized in Los Angeles Sentinel

Dr. Samuel DuBois Cook is a symbol and expression of the active quest for social justice and equality at Duke University. During his lifetime, Dr. Cook had a distinguished record as a political scientist, scholar, educator, author, teacher, administrator, civil and human rights activist and public servant. Dr. Cook was the first African American professor to hold a regular faculty appointment at any PWI in the South. The fact of the day post in the Black365 series focused on celebrating his birthday, November 21, 1928 and bringing awareness to his accomplishments.
