Paquita Yarborough

Dr. Paquita Yarborough is the Executive Director of Capacity Building at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. Dr. Yarborough is responsible for implementing campus partnerships to improve overall university infrastructure. Currently, she leads the

capacity-building team in implementing the HBCU Transformation Project. The HBCU Transformation Project represents a multi- million-dollar investment in HBCUs to leverage a networked approach to driving student success and institutional improvement.

Dr. Yarborough joined TMCF after serving North Carolina Central University in the School of Education as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and University-School Partnerships. During her ten years at NCCU, she worked as the Special Assistant to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the founding Director of the Comprehensive Academic Success and Enhancement (CASE) Center (a Title III Program). She wrote the initial proposal for the University College. Her experience includes contributions to several committees, including the university’s strategic planning and accreditation committees. She served as a faculty member at Saint Augustine’s College in the Journalism and Mass Communication department for eight years.

Dr. Yarborough considers herself a proud reflection of the legacy of HBCUs. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Bennett College, a Master’s degree from Florida A&M University, and a Doctor of Education degree from Fayetteville State University. Her doctorate is in Educational Leadership with a research focus on HBCU leadership. Dr. Yarborough’s hometown is Durham, NC, and she works remotely from her home in Holly Springs, NC.

Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) is the nation’s largest organization, exclusively representing the Black College Community. TMCF member schools include the publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs)
