Dr. William A. Darity Jr., the Samuel DuBois Cook Distinguished Professor and Founding Director of the Cook Center at Duke University, shared his insights in a recent EBONY Magazine article by Delaina Dixon.

The article addresses the critical importance of reparations for Black Americans in the current presidential election, alongside issues like gun control and reproductive rights, emphasizing the urgent need to close the widening wealth gap between Black and white communities.

In the article, Darity argues against settling for inadequate reparations efforts, stating, “We should not settle for less than is merited, like piecemeal state and local initiatives that are falsely parading under the label of reparations.”
