
The goal of the class is to navigate the students through a rigorous generative process that introduces them to advanced research. This includes some exposure to qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methodologies. Upon completion of the course students should have a better understanding of athlete activism, inequality, and the deep connection that athletics has to sport in the United States and around the world. Undergraduate students may enroll at the 400-level; graduate students may enroll at the 600-level. Advanced undergraduate students may enroll at the 600-level but should have instructor permission and must meet graduate expectations for the course.
