The 50 Best Social Sciences Programs in the World Today
Founded 1838, Duke University is organized into four undergraduate colleges and 10 graduate or professional schools. The Trinity College of Arts and Sciences is one of the larger colleges and awards nearly 80 percent of the undergraduate degrees.
The college has four main divisions: Arts, Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. The Social Sciences Division manages 12 departments and programs including: Cultural Anthropology, History, International Comparative Studies, Political Science, and Women’s Studies.
Associated with the Social Science Division are 18 Centers and Institutes of research. Some examples include the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience, the Center for Population Health and Aging, the Center for the History of Political Economy, the Duke Human Rights Center, and the Samuel DuBois Cook Center on Social Equity. There are also six affiliated schools and institutes including the Institute for Brain Sciences, the Kenan Institute for Ethics, and the Social Science Research Institute.
